Lim Kit Siang receives Datuk Seri Utama title from Penang today

The DAP’s Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang would be receiving his second honorary title today – the Darjah Utama Pangkuan Negeri that carries the title Datuk Seri Utama.

He heads the list of 142 people who would be receiving the honorary titles from Penang governor Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak today.

He received his first title – Tan Sri – from the Agong last year.

Other recipients would include Penang Speaker Datuk Law Choo Kiang, Bank Negara Malaysia governor Datuk Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour, Penang state secretary Datuk Rosli Isa, and Bukit Aman narcotics criminal investigation department director Datuk Khaw Kok Chin will be bestowed with the Darjah Gemilang Pangkuan Negeri, which carries the “Dato’ Seri” title.

The latest addition to the Penang state government line – up, Penang Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Mohamad Abdul Hamid and state executive councillor Rashidi Zinol, who are first-term assemblymen, will be bestowed with the “Datuk” title as well.
