Pas – Gerakan feud merely an act for power

Umno supreme council member Datuk Puad Zarkashi claimed that the ongoing feud between Perikatan Nasional components – Pas and Gerakan – is just an act put up for the sake of power.

“Gerakan will not quit PN. Both Pas and Gerakan are acting. Gerakan knows Pas is only acting over the beer issue for the sake of power.

“Trust me, when Pas gains power, it will follow what Gerakan says about alcohol. Everything will be fine,” he said via a Facebook post.

Gerakan had taken the stance in support of brewery companies donating to Chinese vernacular schools. Pas however took a moralistic stand against Gerakan.

Gerakan then pointed out that they would not rule out quitting the opposition alliance. In response several Pas leaders have welcomed Gerakan to quit the opposition alliance.

Puad also is confident that Gerakan merely threatens but will not quit.

“Pas knows that Gerakan is merely threatening. It is a mosquito party in the sidelines. It would not dare quit PN. It doesn’t have any other place to beg.
