Where art thou, Muhyiddin?
When one looks at the federal opposition coalition – Perikatan Nasional – it is clearly stated that its president is Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin of Bersatu.
In the Dewan Rakyat, the opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin is from Bersatu.
This is despite the fact that Bersatu has a smaller number of MPs compared to Pas.
Hence why the question arises: Where is Bersatu in managing the ongoing schism between fellow component parties – Pas and Gerakan?
Pas, Gerakan, SAPP, MIPP and Bersatu make up the Perikatan Nasional.
What’s the need for Muhyiddin to be PN chief if he cannot show his leadership in containing internal conflicts?
Does Bersatu really have the guts to reprimand Pas, given that the latter has a larger support base and larger pool of MPs?
Would Bersatu reprimand Gerakan, knowing full well that both Bersatu and PN lack non – Malay, non-Muslim vote bloc?
The stance taken by Gerakan on defending the contribution of brewery companies to Chinese vernacular is vital since it involves the education of the young generation.
Clearly for all the unity that Malaysia has boasted in the past, that is not the case for Pas
PN also needs to remember that it does not have the majority support from the non-Muslim communities.
It makes one wonder, whether Muhyiddin daydreams about working in Seri Perdana, the official residence of the Prime Minister.
