WeChat Pay Malaysia to end operations starting September 1

WeChat Pay Malaysia has announced that it will officially cease operations starting September 1, 2024 (Sunday).

Due to adjustments in business development strategy, WeChat Pay Malaysia will terminate all payment services.

“Users are encouraged to withdraw any remaining balance in their accounts as soon as possible.

“Users can withdraw balance via Me-Pay and Services Balance Withdraw until December 31, 2024,” WeChat Pay Malaysia said in a statement.

After December starting on January 1, 2025, users will no longer be able to access WeChat Pay Malaysia via “
Me-Pay and Services.

However, users can still withdraw by following special instructions provided by WeChat Pay Malaysia.

Since yesterday, WeChat Pay Malaysia no longer accepts new e-wallet registrations.

WeChat Pay Malaysia regrets making the decision.

“It was a great honour to have your support throughout the years.

“We apologise for any inconvenience,” WeChat Pay Malaysia said.

Those facing difficulties in withdrawing money from the WeChat Pay account can reach out to their customer service at 03- 2727 9797.
