Diesel price in Peninsula Malaysia drops to RM3.30 per litre
The retail price of diesel in Peninsula Malaysia will be reduced by 5 sen per litre to RM3.30.
“In line with the global decrease in oil prices, the government has decided to reduce the retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia by 5 sen per litre to RM3.30 per litre for the period from August 8, 2024, to August 14, 2024,” said the Finance Ministry (MoF) in a statement.
Meanwhile, the prices for RON97 and RON95 petrol will remain unchanged at RM3.47 and RM2.05 per litre, respectively, from August 8 to 14.
The diesel prices in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan will stay at RM2.15 per litre.
These price adjustments are set according to the Automatic Pricing Mechanism formula, which calculates rates based on the weekly retail pricing of petroleum products.
“The government will continue to monitor the trends of global crude oil prices and take appropriate measures to ensure the continued welfare and well-being of the people,” MoF added.
