Opposition leader’s son, Faisal’s corruption rescheduled
Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin’s son, Muhammad Faisal Hamzah’s corruption case has been rescheduled to Aug 29 for mention.
This is because Sessions Court judge Rozina Ayob has been transferred effective from Aug 15.
Faisal, 40, claimed trial and pled not guilty to the charge of accepting RM100,000 in bribes.
He was charged for receiving the amount from Izmir Abdul Hamid as a payment for Heitech Padu Bhd to appoint Rimba Merpati Sdn Bhd and Per My Solutions as marketing consultants.
It is in regards of Heitech Padu obtaining a tender worth RM33 million from the Companies Commission for the supply, rental, implementation, training, support and maintenance of security infrastructure.
If found guilty under section 16(a)(A) MACC Act 2009, he can be imprisoned for 20 years, fined five times the value of the bribe.
He is currently out on bail with a bailor and a payment of RM25,000.
