AT&S’s investment to create 6,000 jobs, says Tengku Zafrul

Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz said the AT&S (Austria Technologie & Systemtechnik Aktiengesellschaft) investment in Malaysia will create over 6,000 high-skilled job opportunities.

“The RM8.5 billion investment by AT&S in its first Integrated Circuit (IC) substrate manufacturing facility in (Malaysia) Southeast Asia is expected to create over 6,000 high-skilled job opportunities.

“AT&S’s presence will undoubtedly drive the success of the New Industrial Master Plan (#NIMP2030) and the National Semiconductor Strategy in establishing a high-tech industrial ecosystem,” he said via a Facebook post.

Malaysia is a country located in Southeast Asia.

Previously, it was reported that AT&S, headquartered in Austria and renowned for its high-end printed circuit boards (PCB) and integrated circuit (IC) substrates, has selected Malaysia for its inaugural Southeast Asian production facility.

This venture involves a significant investment of RM8.5 billion.

In January this year, the AT&S Austria Technologie & Systemtechnik (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd campus at Kulim Hi-Tech Park (KHTP) began operations as part of this RM8.5 billion investment in Malaysia.

By the end of the year, the new campus will start supplying advanced Integrated Circuit (IC) substrates for AMD’s data centre processors.
