ATMs to be installed in Nenggiri, confirms MoF
Automated teller machines (ATM) will be installed in Nenggiri, said the Finance Ministry (MoF).
“The ministry had completed discussions with several local banks and received positive feedback regarding the setup of ATM machines in Nenggiri,” MoF said in a statement.
This is in response to reports that the residents of Nenggiri are having difficulties accessing ATMs as they had to travel about 50 km to Gua Musang for such facilities, said MoF.
“The services will be activated and expedited to fulfil the needs of the people and will later be expanded to ensure everyone has access to such facilities,” MoF added.
Recently it is reported that more than 30,000 residents in Nenggiri struggled to access ATMs.
Some have to drive up to 45 minutes to find one.
The Nenggiri state by-election on August 17 features two candidates vying for the seat: Kelantan Umno Youth chief Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani and Bersatu’s candidate Mohd Rizwadi Ismail.
The election was necessitated by the vacancy created when incumbent Mohd Azizi Abu Naim lost his Bersatu membership on June 13.
