It wasn’t me who punished Wan Ahmad Fayshal, says Dewan Rakyat Speaker

The six month suspension of Wan Ahmad Fayshal Wan Ahmad Kamal (PN-Machang) did not involve the powers of the Dewan Rakyat Speaker since it was passed through a government motion and it is not a precedent case.

Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul explained that his duties require him to administrate and fulfil the responsibilities as state in the law.

“I am only managing, it was not me who punished him.

“I am merely doing my duties according to standing orders that allow (suspension). He is not the first to face action via a government motion,” said Johari.

He said this during his official visit to the Kelantan state legislative assembly today.

Wan Ahmad Fayshal claimed that he would be able to defend himself if he had been hauled up by the Parliaments Rights and Privileges Committee. during a ceramah session Perasu last night.

He who is also Bersatu Youth chief denied that the suspension imposed on him was due to a poison pen letter.
