PH to continue more effective house-to-house campaigning in Nenggiri
Pakatan Harapan would continue its house-to-house campaigning for BN candidate Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani as it found the method more effective compared to the ceramah sessions.
PH’s Nenggiri by-election direction of operations Adly Zahari pointed out that the method was better in understanding the real problems of the people.
“When we go door-to-door or hold group talks and dialogue sessions at the voting district centre, we bring the people closer to us.
“Ceramah is one-way talk – we talk but the people don’t get to talk,” he said when met in the village of Bertam, Gua Musang.
His side was focused on meeting with 6-7% of the voters in the constituency, identified as fence-sitters, to convey more information on policies of the unity government.
“Our role is to explain what the government has done because we only want to look after the welfare and needs of the people.
“We try our best to resolve issues faced by the people if these are related to the federal government because we are close to the related agencies to help them,” he said.
The by-election pits Azmawi Fikri against Bersatu man Rizwadi Ismail on Aug 17.
The by-election was triggered after Kelantan state legislative assembly speaker declared the seat after receiving a notification from Bersatu that incumbent Azizi Abu Naim was no longer a party member.
