Scammers exploit Google logo for deceptive schemes
China Press headlined that scammers used the Google logo to scam people.
Using the Google logo, they offered enticing part-time jobs to victims. These positions involving simple keyboard tasks allegedly offer up to RM6,188 per month.
Police urged the public to be cautious of seemingly “too good to be true” job offers to avoid falling into scams.
Sin Chew Daily reported that a man with a Datuk title was among those arrested in the first phase of the Federal police’s crackdown on illegal e-waste factories.
Up to 45 foreigners and 10 locals were apprehended in the operation.
On August 5, police from Bukit Aman’s Anti-Money Laundering Criminal Investigation Unit (AMLA), supported by the General Operations Force, conducted simultaneous raids across Pahang, Selangor, Negri Sembilan, and Johor.
The raids resulted in the confiscation of e-waste blocks, assets, equipment, and heavy machinery, totalling RM43.19 million in value.
There are reports that Malaysia’s richest man, Robert Kuok, is interested in reclaiming his position as the “Sugar King” of Malaysia and returning to the local sugar market, reported Nanyang Daily.
Kuok is considering investing through Kuok Group into MSM Malaysia Holdings Bhd.
When asked about the possibility of him returning to politics, former Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin admitted he does not know when it will happen but expressed that he still dreams of becoming prime minister, reported Kwong Wah Daily.
The Home Affairs Ministry cancelled the book ban on Belt and Road Initiative: Mutual Benefit by former DAP member Hew Kuan Yau.
