Act against Muhyiddin, PDRM: Pahang Regent

Pahang Regent Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah wants the police (PDRM) to take action against PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

“I want the PDRM to take stringent action without any compromise against Muhyiddin for deliberately touching on 3R sentiments,” he said in a statement.

“I also would like to advice all politicians that as a leader of the people, they must uphold the principles of Rukun Negara and continuously unite the people so that Malaysia as a multiracial country can be a developed nation with vibrant economy, sustainable environment and happy people,” he added.

This strong statement came in response to Muhyuddin who manipulated facts over the appointment of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim by the 16th Agong who is also Pahang king, Al-Sultan Abdullah.

During the Nenggiri by-election campaign on Aug 15 in Felda Perasu, Muhyiddin depicted Al-Sultan Abdullah was unfair in the appointment Anwar as prime minister. Muhyiddin had expected to be appointed.

Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim added that Muhyiddin was inciting the people and the latter could not accept that he was not chosen as the prime minister.

“His statement is immature and shows he can’t accept the fact that he wasn’t appointed as Prime Minister.

“His statement is also very dangerous as it openly incites the people to lose their trust in the institution of Malay Rulers and splits the people.

The regent also defended the appointment made by his father.

“His majesty called upon constitutional experts and key civil service officials and also got the opinion from the Conference of Malay Rulers.”

The regent also pointed out that Anwar won the confidence motion that was tabled on Dec 19, 2022.

In a related development, 29 police reports have been made against Muhyiddin.

“We are calling him to provide his statement on Aug 20 to facilitate investigations,” said Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain yesterday.
