Hindus pray for Bangladeshi Hindus in KL
A group of 150 Hindus gathered to pray for Bangladeshi Hindus who have been victimised as part of the regime change in the South Asian nation.
The event was organised by the Malaysia Hindu Dharma Maamandram at the Sri Sivan temple in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur last night.
The prayers commenced at 8.00 PM with a full moon prayers, facilitated by temple chairman Raja Singam. This was followed by thevaram and bhajans, led by M Parameswaran which filled the temple with a spirit of devotion and unity.
Bhajans and thevaram are Hindu devotional songs.
At around 9.00 PM, after the prayers concluded, several leaders delivered brief speeches expressing their concerns and hopes for the safety and well-being of the minority communities in Bangladesh.
They emphasized that every life is precious and that the collective prayers were a powerful call for divine intervention to protect those facing persecution.
A number of key personalities attended.
