MDEC-NASSCOM MOU results in training and hiring of 5,000 Malaysians

A MOU signed between the Malaysian Digital Economic Corporation (MDEC) and India’s National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) has resulted in seven global Indian companies based in Malaysia giving its commitment to train and hire at least 5,000 Malaysians over a period of three years, beginning this year.

They will be trained in Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), cyber security, software development and Next Gen technologies.

The MOU was signed on Aug 21 during Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s visit to India and was witnessed by Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo.

“As the MADANI Government continues to build world-class infrastructure and create digital trust to attract investors, a crucial component to accelerate outcomes is talent,”
said Gobind.

“Creating talents is extremely vital in this rapidly evolving digital world, where new technologies are evolving daily. It starts with educating youths, while reskilling and
upskilling those who are already in the workforce.

“This is to ensure no one is left behind in our endeavour to create a digital nation,” he added.
