Chow exits Penang DAP polls race

Penang DAP chairman Chow Kon Yeow has announced that he is exiting the party polls at the state level, scheduled to take place on Sept 22.

He confirmed that he had rejected nominations for the polls.

“After due consideration, I have decided not to contest in the polls. Since I’m not contesting, you know what this means,” Chow said, FMT reported.

He would however remain as Penang chief minister and complete the term, confirmed party secretary general Anthony Loke Siew Fook.

“My position (as chief minister) is decided by the party, so I leave it to them,” Chow said.

He is currently serving his second and final term as the chief minister.
