Why post coming of age ceremony of girls, first night video clips?

A TikTok influencer questioned the necessity for some content creators posting videos that feature the coming of age ceremony of their daughters as well as intimate videos on TikTok.

The ceremony is known as ritu kala samskara in Sanskrit.

“There is no need to record the part where the pouring of water on the young girl,” said Usha Veerasenan, since it would feature the wet child on camera to the rest of the world.

She was commenting on the rise of such video clips posted by some content creators since there is an increase in the sexual related crimes such as kidnapping, molesting.

Usha who regularly raises issues related to Hindus and social issues of the Indian community pointed the issue without saying a word in a video clip.

“It is best not to share those clips on TikTok. Share your children’s achievement in education, culture and faith instead so that other parents are motivated to make their respective children achievers too.

She also questioned the uploading of TikTok content that featured the first part of the first night for married Hindu couples.

“Why share video clip of entering room for first night?

“People are eagerly waiting for the second part,” she added in jest.

In the Hindu tradition, first night of newly married couples are determined based on astrology, similar to weddings.

The couple would be supplied with milk and fruits.
