All eyes on polls at Penang DAP convention

A total of 32 candidates are vying for the 15 spots in the Penang DAP polls.

Among them are Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying and Human Resource Minister Sim Chee Keong.

The two of them are favourites to take over the Penang DAP chairmanship.

Other notables in the list are Deputy Chief Minister Jagdeep Singh Deo, Jelutong MP RSN Rayer and Bukit Gelugor MP Ramkarpal Singh.

Veteran DAP leader Chong Eng who was dropped from the state polls is also vying for a position in the 15 spots.

The polls would take polls during a state convention on Sept 22 at the Setia Spice Arena in Bayan Baru.

Penang DAP polls is interesting this time around since incumbent DAP chairman Chow Kon Yeow who is also the Penang Chief Minister has decided against contesting.

DAP secretary general Anthony Loke Siew Fook would officiate the convention.
