Dr Dzul: My zero tolerance against bullying stance remains since 2018
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad has reiterated his zero tolerance against bullying following the death of Dr Tay Tien Yaa who served as chemical pathology unit chief in Lahad Datu Hospital late last month.
“I have had a zero tolerance towards bullying since 2018 and shall remain steadfast on this policy,” he said on X.
He added that all Health Ministry staff deserve a safe and just working environment.
Dr Tay’s case caught the attention of the media yesterday after it was highlighted by her brother.
She was found dead in her rented home. Her brother pointed out that the suicide took place due to bullying in workplace by the head of department.
Media reports thus far reported that police ruled out foul play in Dr Tay’s death.
A senator had called for immediate action from the Health Ministry in the wake of the expose by the late doctor’s brother yesterday.
