No incentives for Umno’s top 5 to work with Pas

Keluar Sekejap co-hosts Khairy Jamaluddin and Shahril Hamdan pointed out that there are no incentives for Umno’s top leadership to cooperate with Pas as Pas president Tan Sri Hadi Awang had revealed his wiah to revive the idea of grand Malay unity.

Hadi had raised this point durin the recent Pas annual general meeting.

Speaking on the show, Khairy said that every Umno thinks of himself and the party first. And Pas is not there to fulfill the wishes of Umno leaders.

“Every leader in Umno thinks of party and themselves. The outcome has to fulfill the goal.

“Umno top 5 has no incentive. In Baan Datok, (Umno president) Ahmad Zahid thinks PH backs him better than Pas. Mat Hasan is the same,” he said in reference to Umno’s deputy president.

“Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail… Pahang can fall to Pas so he is incentivised to work with PH.

“(Datuk Seri) Khaled Nordin wants to return to Pasir Gudang. There is no Umno seat in South johor seats. He is a senior ranking leader. Pas with Umno won’t give the seat to Khaled,” he said about the Defence Minister.

They also discussed about Plantation, Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Johari Ghani, Wanita Umno chief Datuk Noraini Ahmad and Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Akmal Salleh.

Penang’s Umno leader Datuk Reezal Merican Naina Merican and Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz’s prospects with Pas was also talked about.

“Jo Ghani is with PH. He is more incentivised.

“Noraini and Umno Youth in Johor and Melaka are not incentivised for Pas.

“Those in other states… Take Reezal. He is worried about not getting the seat from Pas.

“Zafrul wants to contest Kota Raja. There is a better chance for Mat Aabu to give him the seat.”
