Pas the reason for non-Malays not supporting PN, says Bersatu man

Bersatu associate wing candidate Datuk Seri R Sanjeevan who is vying for the vice chief position admitted that the non-Malay population are holding back their support for the federal opposition coalition Perikatan Nasional (PN) because of Pas.

“The reality is when we go to the ground and talk to the people, I mean non-Malays, when you bring up Perikatan Nasional the only reason they give for not supporting is Pas.

“That’s the reality. You got to be honest to accept the truth,” said Bersatu Associate Wing member Datuk Seri R Sanjeevan.

Sanjeevan who is vying for the wing’s vice chief post said this to Sana Sini podcast co-hosts Datuk Seri Sivaraj Chandran and Profesor Datuk Sivamurugan Pandian that focused on Bersatu polls and its associate wing.

The wing started in 2020 to accommodate non-Malay members in the Malay party.

It currently has 35,000 members nationwide.

Having said the above he also said that he tells the non-Malays that they supported Pas when the party was part of Pakatan Rakyat.

Sanjeevan also responded to a question regarding the cold relations between Bersatu and Pas.

Sivamurugan had asked whether the relations between the two parties were tense or was merely a perception.

“This is all propaganda,” Sanjeevan responded.

“He cannot say it,” Sivaraj added.
