Afnan Hamimi: Let’s kabaddi, Rayer
Opposition lawmaker Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden (PN-Alor Setar) wants to participate in a kabaddi match against backbencher RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong)
“Can you organise a sports event for MPs? I would like to play kabaddi against Jelutong,” Afnan asked Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Adam Adli while posing his supplementary question during the oral question session in Dewan Rakyat
Adam responded in the affirmative and stated he would look into it.
Rayer meanwhile welcomed Afnan’s move to play kabaddi with him.
“Can, no problem. We can be political opponents but we can also play in a team,” Rayer told Harapan Daily.
Kabaddi is a contact team sport played between two teams with each team made up of seven players originating from South India.
PN election strategy director Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor played kabbadi with Indian youth during the Sungai Bakap by-election as a measure to woo the Indian voters.
