PMX, please consider declaring a public holiday on Nov 1, too

Senator Dr A Lingeshwaran has called upon Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to declare Nov 1 as public holiday too.

This is in view of Oct 31 being a public holiday in conjunction of Deepavali.

“It will be great if PMX can consider extra holiday on Friday for all, not just limited to Indians,” the Penang senator of the DAP said via WhatsApp.

This will give opportunity for all races to share Deepavali joy and understand each other’s culture well.

“This should be a good step to show we are working to what we preach on Madani concept.”

This is not the first call for an additional holiday for Deepavali.

MIC vice president Datuk T Murugiah too had called upon the government for an additional public holiday.
