Enhancing Malaysia-Afghanistan relations and beyond

While the Madani government had officially welcomed the Afghanistan delegation here, there should be a robust plan for continuity in the collaboration between the two nations.

Those voices that have raised a concern on the visit should instead be more focused on floating the bigger issue of the country, especially on the aspect of race relations, and economy that needs critical and urgent reforms.

Having said that, it would be highly recommended that the Malaysian government work towards an exchange program with Afghanistan on the education system platforms.

We should send our education experts and teachers to Afghanistan to assist them in formulating their education system.

On the other hand, let’s bring in the teachers from there and enable them to understand and adapt to how we run our education system.

The prime minister has stressed that Malaysia is ready to cooperate and improve ties with the Taliban government of Afghanistan, so why are there voices from his own Madani government questioning the recent visit of the delegation?

Anwar Ibrahim has been given the mandate by the people, and he has chosen his cabinet members wisely.

Having doubts on his cabinet members’ wisdom in hosting the Afghanistan delegation is akin to question the government per se and the prime minister himself.

All parties must toe the line and support the stand taken by the Education Minister, Fadhlina Sidek.

On the contrary, more engagement should be planned between the Taliban and the Madani government.

Malaysia should take more proactive actions on other fronts, too, with Afghanistan and help build the country.

It will only strengthen the image of the prime minister in the Islamic world.
