Google Maps under probe for deaths of three

Google confirmed that it is cooperating with Indian authorities following the death of three men who was reported to have driven off an incomplete bridge, using a route on Google Maps.

The group was on their way to a wedding in Uttar Pradesh when the car plunged into the Ramganga river from an unfinished bridge.

The Hindustan Times quoted police officials as saying that the driver followed Google Maps to take the route.

This is not the first instance of people dying after following the app. Last year two doctors died in Kerala under similar circumstances.
