This is the Lebanon – Israel ceasefire
US President Joe Biden announced that Israel would gradually withdraw from Lebanon as part of the ceasefire reached between both nations.
Hezbollah will not be allowed to rebuild its infrastructure in south Lebanon in the next 60 days.
This is part of the ceasefire agreement worked out by the US and France for Israel and Lebanon.
On that note, Biden also confirmed that US soldiers will not be put in combat.
“Under the deal reached today, effective at 4 a.m. tomorrow, local time, fighting across the Lebanese and Israeli border will end. Will end.
“This is designed to be a permanent cessation of hostilities,” Biden announced.
The deal would also enable Lebanese army to take control of its territory.
On that note, Biden also reminded all parties of Israel’s right to self – defence if any of the parties breaks the ceasefire.
