Ramasamy loses defamation suit against activist
Former Penang deputy chief minister P Ramasamy lost his defamation suit against consumer activist K Koris Atan.
Judge Nasir Nordin ordered Ramasamy to pay Koris RM10,000.
Ramasamy had sued Koris over remarks made in article published in The Vibes last year.
It was over claims that Ramasamy, who was then Penang Hindu Endowment Board chairman had failed to improve access to the hilltop Murugan temple.
Koris, an advocate for better access pointed out a Japanese firm’s proposal for a cable car which was shared with Ramasamy.
Ramasamy would appeal against the decision.
