Congratulations Ettappa

Congratulations Ettappa, better known as Pas Supporters Wing or the DHPP in the Malaysian context.

It is indeed an achievement as the wing lodged a report against Housing and Local and Government Minister Nga Kor Ming.

For context, Ettappa refers to an Indian chieftain who betrayed Veerapandiya Kattabomman in the early days of the East India Company in India. Kattabomman is the first freedom fighter and Ettappa is the traitor who betrayed, favouring the British.

Kudos to its leader N Balasubramaniam who has maintained a pin dropped silence over matters involving the non-Malays and non-Muslim communities in Malaysia.

Out of the blue Balasubramaniam and his cohorts have waken up to defend Pas Youth who have chosen to pick a fight with Nga.

Perhaps Ettappa needs to be reminded that its primary focus is and will always be the non-Muslim non-Malay community.

For the record Balasubramaniam is a senator but one can be forgiven if they hardly see the former in action in the Dewan Negara.

It is a wonder when was the last time, be it Balasubramaniam and the DHPP, raised the issues concerning the community they claimed to represent.

Regardless of all that this man and his wing clearly wants some political points by transforming into cheerleaders for Pas Youth who shot the first volley.

The ineffectiveness of the DHPP is also crystal clear as Pas had bemoaned the lack of support from the non-Muslim non-Malay crowd during the party’s AGM.

On the flip side, the DHPP wing head does not need to do anything because Pas would not give a winnable seat for the DHPP.

There was neither a single seat given during the 15th General Election nor during the state polls in six states.

Hence, I extend my congratulations to the wing that is characterised by an Indian chieftain.
