No ulterior motives in dinner for Kit Siang -Steven Sim

There are no ulterior motives in the upcoming Lim Kit Siang Appreciation Dinner that is scheduled to held on Feb 15, confirmed Penang DAP chairman Steven Sim.

The dinner will be held in gratitude to the contribution made by Kit Siang on his birthday and in commemoration of being the recipient of the Tan Sri title.

“The dinner is organised by the newly elected Penang DAP committee to express gratitude to Lim and to commemorate his remarkable achievements,” said Sim who is also Human Resources Minister after an event in Bukit Mertajam last night.

“It is simply a celebration and an expression of thanks to a retired leader who has contributed immensely to the party,” Sim added, reported Oriental Daily News.

The dinner is scheduled to be held at the Han Chiang High School Hall and is open to Penang DAP members.

Sim also dismissed rumours that the event is meant to raise momentum for the DAP polls in March and to extend national DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng’s political clout.

Some even claimed that the dinner is meant to be a vote – getting campaign to determine who sits in the all powerful central executive committee.

Guan Eng himself had previously denied being involved in this event.
