PM Anwar deeply saddened over tragic aviation disaster in Washington

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is deeply saddened over tragic aviation disaster that took place at the Reagen National Airport in Washington DC yesterday.

“Families and friends in the United States, Russia, China, the Philippines and Germany are now mourning their loved ones as emergency services valiantly carry out recovery efforts.

“It is especially heartbreaking to learn of the loss of young and gifted figure skaters who had such bright futures ahead.

“In this time of sorrow, I hope their families find strength and solace as they navigate this immense grief. The people of Malaysia are thinking of them,” he said on his social media account.

PSA Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 jet collided with a Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter at around 9pm yesterday.

There were 60 passengers and four crew members in the American Airlines aircraft whereas the US Army confirmed that the helicopter had three personnel in it.
