Simple Manusan: Delving into the problem to get married
How difficult is it to get married when you are beyond your marriageable age?
There are both traditional and modern methods for matchmaking.
Beyond that what does one look for in a marriage?
A soulmate, love or just a marriage? Or is it just for sex.
The fear of being single for the rest of the life is so great that one may be tempted to become a monk.
Simple Manusan explores these themes.
Led by first timer, Hindravel Bose, Simple Manusan hits a chord with the Malaysian audience in terms of language usage and the level of realism to the story.
The Malaysian Indian community would definitely be able to relate to the plot.

Two other characters that stood for the writer are Rathi played by Shamini Ramasamy and Mazhai, essayed by Puvaneswary Sukumaran.
Rathi is the sister to the lead character.
Her acting is realistic and convincing enough that perhaps directors Haran Kaveri and Shobaan should consider a spin-off movie that explores why women chose to remain a spinster.
Mazhai meanwhile is a character who wants to be married despite a problem in her past that continues to be a hurdle for her present and future. She is strong and independent.
As for the director duo Shobaan and Haran Kaveri, Simple Manusan is the second Tamil movie they have worked on.
They were the brains behind Metro Maalai in 2019.
The movie premiere for Simple Manusan was held on Feb 13.
Fans of Malaysian Tamil movies can catch this interesting movie in GSC cinemas from Feb 20 onwards.
