Petra News will meets its employees, says Fahmi
Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has called for Petra News to meet with its employees to address issues related to salary arreas and mandatory deductions.
“I have requested that a meeting be held between all parties involved.
“I have been informed that both parties will meet within a day or two.
“This is what I am working on because I want this matter to be resolved as it has been going on for too long,” he said after visiting the family of ex-journalist the late Muhammad Basir Abu Bakar at their house today.
Petra News is the publisher of the news portals The Malaysian Insight, The Vibes, and Getaran.
The group of employees claimed that Petra News failed to pay their Employees Provident Fund, tax deductions and Social Security Organisation contribution for the year 2024 despite making due deductions.
There has been salary delays too.
A police report was also lodged against the company on Friday.
