Syerleena isn’t in the race for DAP’s CEC polls
Bukit Bendera MP Syerleena Abdul Rashid has confirmed that she is not contesting in the upcoming DAP’s central executive committee polls scheduled to be held in March.
“I am truly humbled and grateful for the trust and support shown in my nomination for the CEC. It is an honor to be considered, and I deeply appreciate the confidence in my leadership.
“However, after careful reflection, I have decided to decline.
“My heart and focus remain with the people of Parliament Bukit Bendera, and I want to continue dedicating my energy to the work we’ve started together,” Syerleena said in a statement via Facebook.
The CEC polls is scheduled to be held on March 16.
DAP’s polls are interesting this time around as a number of veteran leaders have already announced that they are stepping back to make way for the younger generation to take over leadership positions.
Ipoh Timor MP Howard Lee and Bentong MP Young Syefura Othman are among those confirmed to contest in the polls.
