Legislator lodges police report against controversial Indian Muslim convert preacher
A legislative backbencher have lodged a police report against controversial Indian Muslim convert preacher Zamri Vinoth Kalimuthu following the latter’s Facebook posting that mocked Thaipusam.
The police report was lodged by RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong) at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters late last night.
“I have just lodged a police report at the Dangi Wangi Police Station in Kuala Lumpur against Zamri Vinoth for his latest facebook posting mocking Thaipusam.
“In the same report I have also urged the police to take action against Zamri Vinoth for not only mocking and ridiculing Thaipusam but also linking it with the death of a fireman the late Adib at Seafield in Subang Jaya, Selangor .
“This act by Zamri Vinoth is a deliberate act to stoke racial tension and cause disharmony in this peaceful country.
“I urge to police to act immediately and swiftly against Zamri Vinoth who must face the full force of the law,” he said in a statement after lodging the report.
Zamri’s actions against 3R regulations
Last night, Datuk Seri M Saravanan (BN-Tapah) too urged Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail to take action against Zamri as Zamri’s actions were against 3R regulations.
In a Facebook posting, Zamri said people are not insulted when “Hindus chant ‘vel vel’ and dance as if they are possessed (macam orang kena rasuk) while intoxicated (mabuk todi) but they are offended when others merely imitate them.
He said this in view of the controversy created by three ERA FM deejays.
Zamri also claimed in a caption that chanting “vel vel” did not lead to the loss of life, in reference to the death of fireman Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim who died during a riot outside a Hindu temple in Subang Jaya seven years ago.
This is not the first time Zamri has courted controversy with the Hindu community.
