Put the values of sewa, sarbat da bhala and resilience for an inclusive, progressive Malaysia
Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo called upon Sikhs to put the values of ‘sewa’, ‘sarbat da bhala’ and resilience to build an inclusive and progressive Malaysia.
“As we welcome the year 557, may the values of sewa (selfless service), sarbat da bhala (welfare of all), and resilience continue to inspire us in building a more inclusive and progressive Malaysia.
“In this digital age, my hope is for every Malaysian—regardless of background—to have equal access to technology, digital literacy, and opportunities that drive innovation and national growth.
“Let us move forward together, ensuring that no community is left behind in our journey toward a more connected and empowered future.
“Wishing all Malaysians a year filled with prosperity, harmony, and new opportunities. Happy Sikh New Year.”
The Sikh New Year is celebrated on the first Sikh month of Chet.
It is based on the Nanakshahi calendar that began with the birth of Guru Nanak.
