National Geoeconomics Command Centre to address economy, geopolitical issues

Deputy Minister of Investment Trade and Industry Liew Chin Tong confirmed that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim would be establishing National Geonomics Command Centre (NGCC).

He pointed out that the NGCC is vital since economics and geopolitics are interconnected.

“Economics has never just been about economics. There are many intersections between economics and international politics.

“This is more so lately as the tools of economic statecraft such as tariffs and sanctions are at the forefront of economic discussions. Malaysia, too, is not immune to the heightened presence of geopolitics in economic relations.

“Therefore, the Prime Minister has decided to establish a National Geoeconomics Command Centre to monitor and coordinate policies and responses across the government.
