Putra Heights fire: Traffic diverted

PLUS that manages the Elite Highway initially halted traffic following a fire that was caused by a gas pipeline explosion earlier this morning near Putra Heights.

The fire had occurred at KM10.7 of the southbound lanes of the expressway from USJ to Putra Heights.

Traffic was halted on both directions at 11.43am.

About 20 minutes lates the southbound traffic was diverted to Seafield Toll Plaza and the northbound to Bandar Saujana Putra exit.

In a related development, the Department of Environment confirmed that it will carry out air quality monitoring following the fire.

An initial team has been deployed to conduct preliminary assessment.
