Why should the 14% kingmakers vote for PSM?

PSM has always been champions of the downtrodden, championing the causes of the most affected but would it be able to capture the 14% Indian voters of Ayer Kuning?

That is the question that one needs to ask.

While the party does not campaign along 2Rs – race and religion, it was involved in organising forums that left a bitter taste for the Hindus in Malaysia.

Case in point is the International Youth Rationalism Forum that was held at the Kuala Lumpur Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall in December last year.

In the name of rationalism, invited foreign speakers openly condemned the practice of Hinduism and pushed the notion of atheism among the Indian crowd who attended the forum.

As stated by Penang Hindu Endowment Board chairman RSN Rayer, this action is against the first tenet of the Rukun Negara, Belief in God.

How would the 14% benefit from a candidate whose party was the organiser for such a forum?

Why would the 14% who are the kingmakers elect a representative who is guilty by association for being organisers of a forum that belittled their faith?

At the very least, Ayer Kuning that is within the Tapah parliament constituency that is represented by Datuk M Saravanan, who is a devout Hindu who does not mince his words when there are issues concerning his faith.

Another joke that is happening in Ayer Kuning is the protem party, Urimai – led by P Ramasamy wants to highlight Hindu temple issues in Ayer Kuning in support of PSM.

They were successful in raising the issue of Hindu crematorium issue during the Mahkota by-election.

This self proclaimed champions of the Hindus are also the very same people who supported the above mentioned forum.
