Over half of the Ayer Kuning Indian voters would back the BN candidate

MIC deputy president Datuk M Saravanan claimed that over half of the Indian voters in Ayer Kuning would be supporting the BN candidate.

Saravanan is optimistic of this despite the growing dissatisfaction among the Indian community towards the government.

There are 4,603 Indian voters in Ayer Kuning. Of that, 2,600 are loyal to BN, he said.

About 300 remain undecided and the balance 700 have not declared their choice.

“For now, we consider the 2,600 loyal votes in hand and are working on bringing in outside voters,” said Saravanan who is also Tapah MP, various media reported.

It is critical for Saravanan to deliver the Indian votes since Ayer Kuning is one of the two state seats under the Tapah parliamentary seat.

Most of the issues impacting the Indian community are national issues such as the relocation of Dewi Sri Pathrakaliamman temple in Kuala Lumpur and the inaction against independent converted Muslim preacher Zamri Vinoth who has gotten a slap on the wrist despite insulting Hinduism numerous times and hundreds of police reports against him.

The by-election this weekend pits BN’s Yusri Bakir against PN’s Abd Muhaimin Malek and PSM’s Bawani KS.
