Pakistan violates ceasefire with drone attacks
Merely hours after agreeing to a US mediated ceasefire, Pakistan violated them.
The Pakistani army launched drones into Srinagar, Kashmir which was intercepted by the Indian air defence.
Red streaks were seen, loud explosions were heard when the interception was carried out.
A complete blackout was enforced in several cities in Punjab and Rajasthan.
Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that “there had been repeated violations of the understanding arrived between the two countries” regarding the ceasefire.
“We call upon Pakistan to take appropriate steps to address these violations and deal with the situation with seriousness and responsibility,” he said at a press conference in New Delhi.
Earlier on, both India and Pakistan had agreed to end firing and military action.
India also had declared terror attacks would be regarded as an act of war.
India had launched Operation Sindoor which is a coordinated land air and sea attack on nine terror sites located in Pakistan on May 7.
This was done in response to a terrorist attack that killed 26 civilians on April 22 in Pahalgam.
