Sabah state election: Warisan confirms going solo
Parti Warisan Sabah led by Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal has dismissed rumours that it is part of any alliances or electoral pacts.
This means Warisan will be going solo in the upcoming 17th Sabah state election.
Party secretary-general Datuk Lorretto Padua Jr confirmed that the party would contest under its own logo.
“Rumours that Warisan is joining Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) or making backdoor deals are completely false.
“These are lies spread on social media to confuse and mislead the public,” he said, The Star reported.
“We will not be part of ongoing political games. Our focus is on issues like the rising cost of living, water and electricity disruptions, job opportunities, and fair control over our resources,” he said.
Warisan leads the opposition in Sabah but it is part of the government backbenchers at the federal level.
