Business tourism would be generating an economic impact of RM2.1 billion

The business tourism sector is expected to generate RM2.1 billion in the Malaysian economy.

With a total number of 562,000 delegates, they would be participating in 193 events that has been secured this year.

“The estimated expenditure by delegates stands at RM894 million, which is anticipated to generate an economic impact of approximately RM2.1 billion,” revealed Malaysia Convention Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) chairman V Sivakumar.

He pointed out that out of the 562,000 delegates, a total of 128,000 were foreign delegates.

“A total of 193 events have already been secured for 2025, attracting approximately 128,000 international delegates.

“In total, 562,000 delegates—both international and domestic—are expected to participate in these events, indicating the strong appeal and growing confidence in Malaysia as a premier destination for business events.”

What makes these figures better are these are the figures obtained within the first five months of 2025
