Five percent discount MOC: Matter will be raised and revised by state govt

Penang DAP chairman Steven Sim Chee Keong confirmed that the five percent discount for Indian Muslims to purchase under the Madani Home Ownership Campaign (MOC) would be revised by the state government.

“I have discussed the issue with Penang Chief Minister, Chow Kon Yeow. He has agreed for the issue to be raised and revised in the upcoming state exco meeting,” Sim said in a statement.

The five percent discount was offered to the Indian Muslims for the purchase of commercial and residential units that are overhang in Penang.

Yesterday Penang Housing and Environment Committee chairman Datuk Seri S. Sundarajoo announced a five percent discount for Indian Muslims to purchase residential and commercial units under the newly introduced MOC.

Earlier today Penang MIC chairman Datuk J Dhinagaran called for the five percent discount to be offered to all Penangites.

He also called upon the federal government to emulate this move at the national level.
