Saravanan pens a Tamil poem, a broadside over issues against two state excos
MIC deputy president Datuk M Saravanan penned a poem in Tamil that took a broadside over two issues affecting the Indian/Hindu community.
First he took Perak exco for human resources, health, Indian affairs and national integration, A Sivanesan for announcing a ban on constructing Hindu temples on government land in the state for the next five years
The ban is among the points listed in the guidelines several days ago.
Referring to Sivanesan as a needle that betrayed the community, he pointed out that the temples were built even before it became government land.
“Before it even became government land, the ruling British themselves gave our ancestors permission to build a temple there.
“From now on, let our people build temples in the sky!”
He questioned how Sivanesan is going to seek the votes when it comes to elections.
“But where will you go seeking votes?
Oh, you’re the one who keeps a rocket, right?
“You’ll secretly approach us—
“Don’t you dare claim to be the one bringing change!
“We know you came to deceive.
The five percent discount that differentiates Indians and Indian Muslims
Saravanan then took his aim at Penang housing and Environment Exco Member Datuk Seri S Sundarajoo who had announced a five percent discount for purchases of residential and commercial units by the Indian Muslim community.
Saravanan equated the Indians and Indian Muslims to nasi and nasi kandar respectively who are of the same race.
“No exemption for the “Nasi”—
“But a 5% concession for the “Nasi-Kandar”?
“Wretched ones! This society should now reject you.
“You can’t even recognize that the Nasi and Nasi-Kandar belong to the same community—
“And you want all of India to vote for you?
“Maybe even this won’t get through to you—so I’ll say it loud and clear:
“The Indian and the Indian Muslim are always of the same race.
“Different religions, but united in heart.
“To those petty people who divide sheep and lambs with “5%” labels—
“Abdul Khadir and Amavasai are brothers!”
Saravanan also took Sundarajoo to task, describing him as a petty person who thought himself as a king running a shop.
“In the past, at least God gave us a dhoti and offered work—
“But you, ‘Needle’, are snatching even the loincloth we have left.
“You ask where the Tamil associations and forums are?
“They’ve filed petitions asking for subsidies and will not open their mouths until that comes through.
“If someone like Vairamuthu comes, they’ll rent out their voice—
“Saying, “Don’t come, don’t come!”
In his parting words, Saravanan said that the Indian community have learned lessons from the wrong choices they have made during the elections.
The experience would result in them making better decisions in the future, he said.
