Never take your core supporters for granted, a reminder for PH

Former Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad took a lesson from the UK to remind Pakatan Harapan against taking its supporters for granted.

“Some UK Labour party leaders in the past said that they don’t need to win over their base, the working class voters as “they have no where else to go.”

“Never take your core support for granted. PH should take heed of this. Win over other voters, but do not lose your base.

“To sustain as a political movement, voters need to vote FOR us, not AGAINST our opponents.

“As Jeremy Corbyn said, “they can always stay at home,” wrote the Setiawangsa MP on his Linked account.

The Labour party is the ruling party in the UK similar to PKR in Malaysia. The difference is Labour has strong majority in parliament. PKR is part of the PH ruling coalition led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim

Jeremy Corbyn is a former Labour turned independent.

There has been concerns from certain groups in Malaysia that their support is being taken for granted.
