“Unaudited funds” of Wangsa Maju PKR chief a matter of internal auditing

The police investigation into claims made by Wangsa Maju division chief Lai Chen Heng over “unaudited funds” revolves around internal auditing, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

Saifuddin said the matter was related to the administration of PKR.

He said this in a written reply to Fadhli Shaari (PN-Pasir Mas) who queried for an update on the investigation over a viral video clip that featured Lai.

The video that surgaced in May featured Lai claiming that he received financial contributions which has been said to be unaudited funds from a prominent businessman.

Lai has maintained that the clip was selectively edited to smear his image.

Lai denied claims that the division’s 2024 financial statements were manipulated.
