RM11.2 billion in potential investments from World Expo

Malaysia has already recorded RM11.2 billion out of the RM13 billion it targeted in potential investments at World Expo 2025, held in Osaka, Japan

Investment Trade and Industry Minister Senator Datuk Tengku Zafrul Aziz is confident Malaysia would achieve its target within the remaining three months before the expo ends.

“Hopefully we can meet the target. It’s not too far away,” he said after visiting the Malaysia Pavilion.

Investors have been attracted to green technology, the halal industry, renewable energy, the bioeconomy and the digital economy.

This has also resulted in the signing of 34 MOUs thus far.

The number of visitors too have surpassed its target of 1.5 million last week when 2.2 million visitors were recorded visiting Malaysia Pavilion.

World Expo 2025 in Osaka is held from from April to October once every five years in a large-scale international exhibition format.

It provides a platform for nations to showcase innovations, technologies and cultural achievements.
