Another state MIC chapter wants to quit BN
Following calls by Kedah and Penang MIC to quit BN, the Federal Territories MIC too have taken the same path.
FT MIC chairman S Rajah said that the leadership must make a stand whether to remain or quit BN as they felt that BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has failed to defend the position of the components within the unity government.
“Recently the government announced Ramanan has been given the responsibility to supervise and oversee projects involving Tamil schools and Hindu temples.”

“Is MIC not fit for the job when this party has a history over 79 years?” he told the media yesterday.
Rajah said that the BN chairman should have discussed with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to allocate the job of managing Indian affairs to MIC.
Instead, he stayed silent and dismissed the involvement of BN component parties in the current government.
“You are more interested in your new friends from PH. So, what is wrong if MIC quits BN and determines its own way,” he said, in reference to Zahid.
Anwar announced Ramanan’s new role three days ago.
