TikTok summoned to Bukit Aman tomorrow

TikTok has been summoned tomorrow to meet Communication Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Attorney General Tan Sri Dusuki Mokhtar and Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Ismail.

The short video app company is scheduled all the four tomorrow in Bukit Aman at 11am due to its delayed response to the authorities.

“TikTok was very slow in providing the police with the relevant information. I had to call the CEO of TikTok myself to inform them that this is a crime, and that their organisation was very slow.

“We can’t have such attitudes,” Fahmi told reporters after launching the AI Grand Prix Conference 2025.

He said this in reference to a TikTok account that was commenting on a postmortem of bully victim.

Fahmi added that the parent company of Facebook – Meta would also be summoned by the authorities soon since there are paedophilic-related content shared on WhatsApp and Facebook.

“But these platforms don’t seem to take such issues seriously.

“So this dialogue will continue, and we will emphasise that Malaysian law applies to them and they must comply. We will call in every platform.”
