Penang Pas crossed the line, Gerakan Youth sees red
Gerakan Youth secretary general Andy Tan Hum Wei lambasted Penang Pas election committee head Mohd Shafirul Rozani.
“Anyone who disrespects Gerakan’s leadership will not be treated with courtesy. Every party has its boundaries, and Mohd Shafirul has crossed the line,” he said in a statement today.
This is over Shafirul’s speech at Pas muktamar.
Shafirul blamed Gerakan president Datuk Dominic Lau Hoe Chai for failing to lead the federal opposition bloc in Penang.
Shafirul compared the opposition in the state to a Ferrari that could not be driven anywhere as the “steering wheel is in the hands of another person.”
“If the chairperson does not know how to drive a car despite it being a new car, perhaps we should change the chairperson,” he was quoted as saying.
Tan reminded Pas leaders that the collaboration of Gerakan and other parties in PN must be anchored in long-term coexistence, loyalty and a shared responsibility in both successes and challenges.
“Gerakan Youth will firmly defend our president against baseless attacks. We cannot allow any so-called ally to backstab us from within.
“If you deliberately undermine PN’s unity, you are not only betraying coalition partners but also destroying our shared ambition of reaching Putrajaya,” he said.
