Police report lodged against UPM, private company over dog killing ops
A police report was lodged by Pertubuhan Pelindung Khazanah Alam Malaysia (Peka) against Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and pest control company PCH Care Services at the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters this morning.
The report lodged by Dr Kartini Farah Rahim urged the police to probe UPM and the private company for conducting two dog killing operations.
She urged the police to investigate under section 29 and 30 of the 2015 Animal Welfare Act and 1960 Arms Act and 1971 Arms Act (Heavier Penalties).
The first section in the Animal Welfare Act criminalises the act of causing hurt, suffering and death to an animal whereas the second prohibits the killing of animals.
The additional two acts was over fire arms ownership and legal usage of fire arms.
Evidence for the action of both UPM and PCH Care Services was also submitted to the police.
